Description

The Oregon Indoor Academy is a soccer training program for children ages 5 – 14, broken up into three different age groups, that focuses on teaching technique and confidence on the ball. We do this by breaking each class into three main sections: activities designed to improve ball handling technique, small-sided games that require the application of these skills in game-like situations and scrimmage. The skills that will be most emphasized will be dribbling, passing, receiving on the ground, receiving in the air and shooting. The small-sided games will encourage risk taking, using skill to move the ball out of difficult situations and empower each individual to be a difference maker with the ball at their feet. Scrimmages will be larger games that will be situations for kids to use their skills in a team setting.

Every class will encourage enjoyment of the game and the learning process by giving each child a lot of time with the ball at their feet and a lot of encouragement from a positive, knowledgeable and friendly coaching staff. It is our goal that, no matter what your child’s experience and ability level coming into the program, they will have improved skills and belief that they can be a vital part of their team’s success every time they step on the field when they finish our program.

Coaching Staff

Our Academy is led by Youth Programs Director Mark Jorgenson, a USSF B License coach who recently coached at Eastside Timbers in Gresham and has been coaching competitive club and high school soccer teams for twelve years. His staff is a group of individuals who are or have been involved in playing and coaching at the youth and college levels.

All children should come dressed in comfortable athletic clothing and shoes. Indoor soccer and turf shoes are fine. Cleats are not allowed and shin guards are not required. Bring plenty of water as well.
